Project Overview:

My First Job (MFJ) was the Global Shapers Community, Kuala Lumpur Hub’s inaugural project. This three-phased initiative comprised of a series of lectures and workshops, facilitated by Shapers of the KL Hub with external experts in recruitment and talent management. We targeted unemployed fresh graduates from local universities within Klang Valley for our project and were pleased to have received strong support and much positive response from students and academicians alike.

Phase 1:

Plenary talk by Yeoh Chen Chow, Regional Operations Director, Asia Pacific (APAC) at Groupon and a Q&A forum with HR specialists.

Phase 2:

Plenary Talk by Kala Kularajah Sundram, Head of Talent and Organisation Development at Maxis Berhad. We also had a speed interview simulation and one-to-one resume coaching. These hands-on exercises made the learning process interesting and more practical.

Phase 3:

Full scale simulation of the entire interview process which included mock resume submission, mock phone interview and mock panel interview. The objective was to ensure that participants from Phase 1 and 2 practiced what they have learnt in an environment similar to real job interviews.
